Mission Statement and Philosophy

Together, we DO make a difference.

Kindale Developmental Association is a community based network of dedicated people providing individualized person centered support for persons with disabilities within an inclusive and interdependent community.

The individual will be empowered to make decisions, choices and connections with community support in the most natural and normal environment that supports and respects his/her dignity and the integrity of individual rights.

Human Dignity

All humans should be treated with love and respect simply because they are humans and regardless of class, race, gender, nationality, culture, sex, education, religion, or any other divisions.
Human dignity should not have to be earned; it is inherent in the human.
Human dignity is inviolable; it must be respected and protected.
Human dignity must be respected and protected for everyone both within Kindale and outside Kindale.

Integrity means adhering to moral and ethical principles; having soundness of moral character; being honest.
Integrity is a fundamental social value for Kindale in dealing with bureaucrats or the community. Kindale always takes the high road.

The Law
Canada has ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). The purpose of CRPD is to promote, protect, and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms by all persons with disabilities, and to promote respect for their inherent dignity.
All people with disabilities must be treated as equals and Kindale must vigorously stand up with others to protect all persons treated unfairly.

Voluntary Action
Volunteers make a huge difference in our lives and to our communities.
Volunteer action is a great and underutilized resource.
